A collection of printed articles, bibliographies, reference lists and correspondence. Includes two copies of LC’s article for the Journal of the New York Folklore Society, titled ‘Military Folklore and the Underwood Collection’ along with the references (including those from the Underwood collection] and other examples of bibliographies. The correspondence is with Journal editor Phillip Stevens Jr., about the references for his article. The date range is c. 1956-1988.

A collection of photocopied newspaper clippings from 1918/1919 editions of ‘The Stars and Stripes’. The focal points are the cartoon sections that satirise WWI weaponry and daily tasks. The later editions also depict scenarios of soldiers returning home and what happens when they reconnect with their families. The specific date range is April 5, 1918 to January 24, 1919.
NZ War Songs
Oxford: War Lit.
A collection of correspondence, typed manuscript, information and printed sections from the ‘Oxford Companion to New Zealand Literature’. The correspondence is regarding LC’s contribution to the ‘Companion’ and the accompanying manuscript is his piece ‘War Literature: The Boer War and the Two World Wars’. Also includes other information such as the conditions for entries, the finished preface and a list of all the contributors. The publication date range is June 1997 – May 1998.
Stars and Stripes
A collection of handwritten notes and photocopied clippings from 1918 editions of ‘The Stars and Stripes’. Focuses on the satirical comics of the publication. The handwritten notes indicate further interest into the publication’s role in WWI, as well as that of the Salvation Army and the YMCA. All of the printed examples and the indicated examples in the handwritten notes are from 1918/1919. The date that the clippings were printed and notes were written is unknown.
