A collection of handwritten notes, newspaper clippings and typed script. The documents are primarily to do with research into the history of Burnett’s Face, with the newspaper clipping discussing the mining potential of the Denniston Plateau that it sits on. Burnett's Face
An envelope containing three prints of Denniston scenes. The first is labelled ‘Tolls Hotel 1957’ and depicts 4 men drinking at the bar. The second is labelled ‘Denniston 1957’ and is a wide shot of the township. The third is labelled ‘Discarded pit props at head of incline 1957’ and the depiction correlates.
Denniston + Burnett's Face
A collection of newspaper clippings, magazine articles, handwritten notes, a material receipt from Victoria University and an envelope. Details the history and commemoration of the Burnett’s Face township and the coal mining industry of the area. The publication date range is 1934-2003. Westport
A collection of handwritten notes, a photocopy of the Westport Coal minute book, correspondence, an Archives New Zealand copying order form and a table of Westport Coal Company’s account records. The correspondence is between LC and Nicola Frean of Victoria University in which they discuss Denniston and Burnett’s Face. The publication date range is c. 1942-2009. The subject matter includes dates from 1902 onwards.
