This box contains files from the large filing cabinet. A significant number of files in this cabinet contained information confidential to individuals and organisations. Any such files have either been returned or destroyed after discussion with the parties concerned.
The bulk of retained material is correspondence, both personal and related to Professor Callaghan's writing for publication.

Box contains a folder of clippings related to Antarctica (1995/6), folders of correspondence 1999-2001, material related to 'Science in the New Zealand Curriculum' and PTC's overseas leave requests (1996-2001) and reports (1985-2000) from his time at Massey University.

A collection of personal correspondence between LC and Mike Bennett. Also includes a letter of a personal nature from Ben Morris of Goleta, California, U.S.A. The date range is 1966-1982.

Correspondence
This series consists of 14 folders containing letters dated between 1966 and 2000.
They are mostly letters received by Professor Geering, but included is a folder containing a list of letters between R.D.Arnold (N.Z.Association of Presbyterian Laymen) and the Reverend R.J.Blaikie dating from April 1967 to November 1968, the period surrounding the 'heresy' trial.

Denis Glover
Contains newspaper clippings regarding Denis Glover and his poetry, correspondence between LC and Gordon Ogilvie regarding Glover, a transcript of an interview of LC and Mary Cleveland by Gordon Ogilvie about Denis Glover. Also includes three issues of 'The Quaffers' Gazette'; No. 1, April 1962, No. 3, 1962, No. 4, 1962. These are accompanied by a handwritten note that says that Denis Glover edited the issues. The date range of the collection is c. 1962-1998.

Contains information on Wai-te-ata Press ephemera, printed font styles, theatre posters, handbills, invitations to social functions and personal cards and invitations. The publication date range is 1963-1998.
Ian McCrone
A collection of correspondence and edited drafts of essays/articles regarding 'The Press'. The correspodence is between LC and Ian McCrone and is both personal and professional in nature. There is also some correspondence between LC and McCrone's son John McCrone, on the matter of Ian McCrone's death. Also includes a miscellaneous letter from H. M. Baxter to Ian McCrone. The date range of the collection is September 2003 - November 2004.
Jonas, Dick
A collection of correspondence, biographical information photocopied cassette tapes and an order form. The correspondence is between LC and Richard ‘Dick’ E. Jonas and concerns LC’s interest in purchasing some of Jonas’ fighter pilot music cassettes. LC is generally interested in Jonas as a military folk singer and requests the biographical information for that reason. The date range of the collection is May – July 1987. The subject matter includes dates from 1939 onwards.

Plastic Bag Containing Letters, Mail
Contains a series of letters, both handwritten and typed, addressed to LC. The correspondence is regarding New Zealand Literature, Piero Madrillo's publication 'Svaghi Inglesi e Americani' and its translation and recognition of LC's teaching at Victoria University. For the most part the correspondence is personal in nature. The correspondents are from Wellington, England, France, Greece and Italy. The date range of the correspondence is 1965 - 1999.

Contains a photocopy of a letter of correspondence from Robert C. Price to a Mr. [Lichtenwanger?], sent on December 4, 1974. The letter is regarding a song sheet that Price took from ‘The U.S. song book’ and included with the letter, in the hope of aiding the correspondent’s collection of army songs. It appears the material is part of the ‘Music Division’ of an unknown institute. The date that the material was retrieved from this source is unspecified.
