Ephemera
A collection of pamphlets, articles and a photographic print. The pamphlets and articles are from miscellaneous organisations around Wellington. The pamphlets regard topics such as New Zealand terrorism laws, Te Reo, consent, animal welfare, fundraising and workers' rights. The photographic print is off Helen Sutch and Jack Richards, members of the VUW Drama Club during a performance of 'Measure for Measure'. The date range of the collection is c. 1970 - 2009.
Erewhonian Notes
A collection of newspaper clippings, handwritten notes, typed script and printed articles. Includes a variety of dystopian-themed news stories of violence, protest, nuclear warfare, international relations, science and technology. The publication date range is 1960-1988. The subject matter includes dates as far back as 1927 and often uses “the 21st century” in discussion of the future.
Nelson Railway
A collection of photos, newspaper clippings, photocopied newspaper clippings, typed script, handwritten notes and correspondence. Details the 1955 Nelson ‘Railway incident’, involving a group of protestors staging a ‘sit-down’ on the tracks to protest the closing of the Nelson-Glenhope railway. The events were reported on in N.Z. Truth by LC. The publication date range is 1955-1995.
The Erewhonians
Contains pages 1-110 of LC’s radio fantasy story, ‘The Erewhonians’, along with handwritten notes. Also contains a couple of newspaper clippings that chronicle the protest against Prime Minister Jim Bolger’s seeking of foreign investors in New Zealand land. ‘The Erewhonians’ is undated, however the newspaper clippings date from 1995.
