Abstract

Established to 'encourage, promote and develop the practice and appreciation of culture and the arts' within the student bodies of all tertiary educational institutions, the NZSAC records include minutes, documentation of activities, and posters. The records consist chiefly of the correspondence and other documentation related to the tours and similar activities, together with financial records and council minutes, and a set of the posters advertising tours.

Contains a series of correspondence between LC and Nicola Frean, the Special Materials Librarian of Victoria University at the time. They regard the bequeathing of the ‘Cleveland Collection’ in the event of his death as well as the donation of other research material. The correspondence occurred between 2004 and 2006.

Scope and Contents note A.S. Atkinson was a leading member of the Nelson Philosophical Society, but presented only a few papers. These notebooks are inscribed with "Notes of the late A.S. Atkinson, Fairfield, Nelson" and were lent to the Cawthorn Institute by R. and A. M. Atkinson on November 1921. This collection contains legal and other papers (some on parchment) contained within an old metal deed box. The shipping sticker on the lid of the deed box bears the name of Mrs L. J. Compton, a passenger of Cabin 8 and heading to the Port of Auckland New Zealand [possibly coming from Liverpool].

Scope and Contents The 'Equal Pay Campaign Archive' is a collection of Public Service Association and personal papers from c1943-1985, to do with the campaign leading to the Government Service Equal Pay Act in 1960.
