Burnett's Face Band records, 1914-1916
The collection consists of records salvaged by Les Cleveland. They concern the Athenaeum, the Brass Band, and the Crown Hotel only.
Les Cleveland contributed photographs for the article 'Survivors of ghost town recall a bygone era', 'New Zealand Truth', 11 February 1958, p.22 (clipping held with collection).
Cleveland Papers
Contains a signed copy of LC’s written bequest of his papers to the J.C. Beaglehole collection. Also includes a copy of the record details for a collection of papers donated to Alexander Turnbull Library by LC in 1998, as well as an accompanying letter of correspondence from then-curator, David Colquhoun. The documents are all dated in either 1998 or 2011.

Folio 7: Jokes and Sayings
A section of the underwood collection that contains, typed script, handwritten notes, photocopied newspapers and articles and correspondence. Throughout the collection are featured ‘jokes’, and the articles either chronicle instances of pranking or use colloquialisms or sayings that contribute the what the overall collection is trying to demonstrate. The date range of the content is c. 1918-1947.

Nicola Frean
Contains a series of correspondence between LC and Nicola Frean, the Special Materials Librarian of Victoria University at the time. They regard the bequeathing of the ‘Cleveland Collection’ in the event of his death as well as the donation of other research material. The correspondence occurred between 2004 and 2006.

This collection contains legal and other papers (some on parchment) contained within an old metal deed box. The shipping sticker on the lid of the deed box bears the name of Mrs L. J. Compton, a passenger of Cabin 8 and heading to the Port of Auckland New Zealand [possibly coming from Liverpool].
