The records held in this collection consist of personal and ephemeral items which have been donated by his family. They include certificates, medals, publications, photographs, clippings, notebooks, university ephemera, printed slides from presentations, some teaching and research material, chemical samples, models, a banner, a framed 'genealogy of influence', a typewriter, and other realia.
The bulk of the J. C. Beaglehole papers have remained in the family hands and have been or are being deposited in the Turnbull Library.
