Victoria University of Wellington. History Department
Victoria University of Wellington.
Records from the History Department include both administrative records, and project records relating to the 1981 Springbok Tour.
Administrative records include Departmental registers, examination correspondence, lecture notes and class notes, although these vary at different periods. Note that the papers of Professors Wood, Hamer and Munz may include administrative as well as research records.
Access to administrative records is subject to permission from the Head of the History Department.
The VUW History Department staff directed a group of students in the task of surveying and interviewing members of the groups opposed to the 1981 Springbok Tour, together with public figures such as politicians and church leaders. There were two publications as a result of this research, and it is documented in separate record series. These records were restricted until the end of 2001, and information on people who are still alive is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act.
