The Wellington Typographical Union, founded as the Typographical Society about 1862, became the Wellington Printing and Related Trades Union in 1934. From 1881 to 1892 it was the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Typographical Society and in 1939 it became the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand union.
