Nurse Education in the Tertiary Sector (NETS) was established in 1992 and is a national association of nursing educators in tertiary institutions. NETS provides leadership and direction on significant national issues which relate to nursing and health education.
NETS aims to provide a focus for informed comment, direction and policy development in nursing and health education; and has a vision of excellence and equity in nursing and health education so that practitioners meet the nursing and health needs of all people in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
The specific objectives of NETS are:
to bring together the members' views and strategically disseminate information on issues significant to nursing education and health related matters;
to provide a forum for discussion and debate, develop policy, share information and provide mutual support;
to provide a national focus for groups seeking informed comment on nursing education and health related issues;
to be proactive in providing comment and response to issues of national importance in nursing education;
to promote, participate in, commission and/or seek sponsorship for research related to nursing education.
