Biographical / Historical
'John Hursthouse was born in 1811, 2nd child of Charles and Mary Hursthouse of Lincoln.He married Helen Wilson in 1837. Helen was formerly John's sisters' governess and they sailed for New Zealand on the ship the Thomas Sparks in 1842, settling in Taranaki.'
