Annual group photographs of residents, 1933

Identifier: WeirS01-02

Annual group photographs - scope and content note

Formal group portraits were commissioned from 1933 on, although there may have been a period in the 1970's-1980's when they were not taken. Ken McGrath (Warden of Weir House 1974-76) recalled in 2008 that "House photos were done by the House Association and not the Warden; it was a time of some apathy in association affairs and I recall nagging about group photos until something was done, hence there being only one in my time."

The Library holds physical prints of these annual portraits from 1933-2005, except for 1965-1969, 1973-1975, and 1977-1978, which we would like to acquire.

The Library also holds digital copies of the annual portraits from 1933-1972 and from 1981 on.

Names were usually, but not always, included on the mount with which the photograph was transferred.
