Indianan Archives, 1941 - 1980
Scope and Contents
An extensive collection of song lyrics, ditties, song background information and articles all retrieved from the Folklore Institute Archives at Indiana University. The archive material was originally sourced from various informants across America who participated in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. The background information offers insight into the folkloric aspect to the songs included. Also included is a series of correspondence between LC and Assistant Archivist at the Folklore Institute, Barbara Truesdell regarding the accessions that LC is interested in and a make-shift catalogue for those accessions that might be relevant to LC’s work. The administrative material has a date range of September 1985 – March 1986, the archival material itself has a date range of c. 1941-1980.
