Scope and Contents

Contains a series of documents pertaining to Angus McCurdy's time in Hutt Valley local politics. Includes a proposal to establish a public hall in Upper Hutt, a prospectus of the Upper Hutt Union Public Hall Company , Ltd., handwritten notes and some sketches of the proposed structure. Also includes a introductory pamphlet to the new Majestic theatre in Upper Hutt (1928), a photocopy of 'The Independent' from May 16 1914 and some miscellaneous meeting notes of the reception committee. The overall date range of the collection is c. 1902-1928.
