Crown Hotel (Burnett's Face) Records
Scope and Contents
"Fortnightly account book kept by Bob Roper, licensee of Crown Hotel Burnett's Face, Mar 1940-Mar 1950,. Daily running book which Roper used to keep in the bar. Miners were paid fortnightly, Roper would advance them for drinks etc and settle on Payday, or whenever he could get it. This system of accounting is common in West Coast pubs." Note transcribed from slip inside book, probably written by LC. Note also states "Salvaged by Les Cleveland on a visit to the Face in December 1957".
