Secret History of New Zealand Soldiers in WWII
Scope and Contents
A collection of handwritten notes, original and photocopied newspaper clippings, printed articles and three copies of LC’s unpublished work under the titles of ‘Under the Guns’ and ‘Cannon Fodder’. Topics include soldier morale, admiration for comrades, Mussolini and Italian fascism, women in the work force, entertainment and general troop welfare (e.g. the Y.M.C.A.). The publication date range is c. 1940-1999. The subject matter includes “The Great War” suggesting a date range from c. 1914 through until 1999.
