Gordon Collection, L. of Congress
Scope and Contents
Contains the ‘Inferno’ manuscript collection of Robert Winslow Gordon, a series of songs from the early half of the 20th century, along with his correspondence with the donors. The songs often speak about WWI experiences, as well as various tales of the U.S. lifestyle. Also included is a small photographic print of an unknown soldier. The collection date range (by Gordon) is c. 1923-1927. The subject matter date range is unclear. However there is mention of some songs being “hundreds of years old”.
