Scope and Contents
A collection of handwritten notes, newspaper clippings, printed articles and the photocopied Y.M.C.A. diary of B. Shepherd. The general theme of the collection is the soldiers’ experience in Cairo during the North African campaign. This includes entertainment and music, sites and activities, and one specific report of Indian hemp in the soldiers’ cigarettes. The publication date range is c. 1940-1984. The subject matter includes dates from 1915 onwards.
