Truth Illustrated
Scope and Contents
A collection of handwritten notes, photocopied newspaper clippings, index cards, negatives and photo prints. The handwritten notes, articles and some of the negatives are focused on political illustrations and caricatures. Copy of a ‘Pas’ illustration included. Themes and topics include race relations, the Labour movement and general politics and Australian Truth journalists. The other negatives, along with the photos, focus on the development of Truth and its staff. Those included are: Stan Wrigley, Dave Williams, Jim Mahoney, Rod McMillan, Jack Elliott and Ian Bell. Some photos of Police laboratory work are also included with N. McKay, H. H. Lissette, J. Morrissey and F. Greenstreet. Both the publication and subject matter date ranges are c. 1905-1970.
